Co-Lead, Parents for Future Scotland (September 2024 - March 2025)
I co-lead the Edinburgh Air Pollution Programme, a free, curriculum-aligned initiative helping schools understand and take action on air pollution. Developed in collaboration with teachers, researchers, and the City of Edinburgh Council, the programme supports learning across numeracy, literacy, science, and health & wellbeing, aligning with the UNCRC and UN SDGs commitments.
Lesson Packs: Hands-on activities that help pupils explore air pollution, monitoring, and practical solutions.
Parent Talks: Facilitated sessions that create space for families to learn and discuss local air-quality issues.
Showcase Events: Schools present their work at the Edinburgh City Chambers; previous events have gained media coverage and policy interest.
I contributed to programme design, school engagement, parent talks, and coordination with teachers and council officers. I also support event organisation and ensure that all materials reflect current evidence on indoor and outdoor air quality.
20+ schools engaged
1,000+ pupils and families reached
Strengthened links between schools, communities, and local policy
This work brings my research on indoor environmental quality into communities, empowering pupils, teachers, and families to take meaningful action on the air they breathe.
